New Italianate Villa Shortlisted For The National Brick Awards

FPA architects Italianate Villa

The annual Brick Awards, hosted by the Brick Development Association, are one of the longest established and most widely respected design awards in the UK. FPA's Victorian Italianate style villa was nominated by brick supplier Furness Brick, and has been shortlisted in two categories; ‘Best Housing Development 1-5 Units’ and ‘Best Craftsmanship Award’.

An extremely high standard of building material, craftsmanship and finish was required to meet the developer’s specification. The house, built by Bowdon Homes for a private client, includes features extending from the intricate brick detailing and quarry-cut natural stone highlights, down to specially commissioned air bricks made to match the design of the wrought iron balustrade. The expertise demonstrated by the craftsmen working on the project has resulted in a very special and unique home.

The 2010 Brick Awards will be held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel, London on Wednesday 3rd November. For more information go to www.brick.org.uk/awards/2010
